The story...

Here is the story I know you are all just dying to hear, or so I have convinced my self. This week I had been down for the count, the flu found me and was not going to give me a chance. I was literally sick all week (I'll spare you the details). Little did I know that McKay had been scheming anyway. The original plan was to propose Thursday night but I was still stuck in bed with chick-flicks and Jamba Juices.
McKay had told me that he made an appointment for us to go look at rings at Tiffanys on Friday night. I was feeling a little reluctant to go because I know how expensive they are but my inner girlie girl got the best of me and I agreed to it. As we got to City Creek for our appointment McKay told me there was a bakery we had to try, and if I'm being honest a cupcake was the last thing I wanted to eat after having the flu, but he insisted. So there we were walking around downtown looking for a no name bakery.
As we were walking down the road I saw a man that looked a lot like McKay's uncle Don. I thought McKay saw him and he didn't say anything so I kept to myself. Then I got a better look, it was for sure Don. I asked McKay, "Isn't that your uncle?" and he said, "Oh yeah, it is." So we went over said hello and kept on our way. As we were walking McKay happens to find the cutest little bulldog leashed to the fence. Let me just say that we LOVE bulldogs. We walked closer and McKay started to pet the little guy, I was hesitant because it was a strangers dog and I was nervous it was going to bite and give us rabies!
As I got a closer look I noticed the dog was wearing a collar that read, "Look up." I thought we were going to be ambushed with water balloons or something of that nature before I ever thought he would be proposing! I looked up and across the City Creek skywalk were both of our families holding umbrellas that spelled out "Will you marry me?" I was knelt down next to the dog and sort of just froze there next to McKay as he took a knee. I couldn't help but repeatedly ask if this was for real? And as much as the pictures look like I was crying, I was laughing. Who does that? I have a bad habit of laughing during serious moments.
Before I knew it a bunch of cameras started coming out of no where as McKay told me how happy I made him and how much he loves me. He asked me to marry him and pulled out the ring I had wanted. Side note on that, we had gone to look at a ring I fell in love with and the jeweler told me that he had sold it. I hated that jeweler for a straight week after that. Mac told me that he could have another one just like it within 3 weeks, although it was bitter I agreed. I am usually on to things like this but McKay has a pretty dang good bluff.
After he popped the question and I said something along the lines of, "freak yeah I'll marry you" our families came and gathered around, hobos cheered, and we all celebrated the single greatest moment in my life thus far. Our families left and we went to a fabulous dinner at The Roof where flowers were waiting for me and we got to take it all in. I think it is safe to say that I am still in shock!
This is where I get cheesy and mushy so try and hold on to your breakfast. I don't know how I got so lucky to get McKay but he makes me SO happy and treats me like a queen. He is absolutely perfect in every way and he is especially a perfect match for me. I really hit the jackpot with him. I can't wait to spend forever with him!
